Create a Home Among Friends at Diamond Cove

Diamond Cove epitomizes an idyllic Maine life, and makes island living a comfortable reality for a diverse and fortunate few. Our community is a small, and friendly one, where neighbors socialize and assist one another. This island is our home. Our wish is to share this beautiful, historic land with others who are also looking to get away from a fast paced life, and step back into history. Amidst the old army buildings, now restored into inviting homes, Diamond Cove offers residents and their guests an authenticity not easily found.

Diamond Cove is home to former enlisted mens’ barracks, officers’ quarters, quartermaster units, and many other original fort buildings. All have been converted into gracious homes with slate roofs, wooden porches, grand staircases and fireplaces.

The community offers many amenities including a heated pool, tennis courts, a modern workout gym, and a game and recreation building with 2 original bowling alleys. There is also the original basketball gymnasium, meeting rooms in the PX building, now referred to as Admin. Dances and other community events are held in the gymnasium, and there is a Kids’ Camp offered in the summertime. Swim lessons are offered at the pool, art classes and wine tastings are held in the Art Gallery building, weekly island dinners are held at the General Store, complete with local entertainment. An annual charity road race is held on island to honor and benefit the Dennis Farrell Scholarship Fund for Rippleffect, a Maine youth & leadership non-profit located on Cow Island, our neighbor to the north of Diamond Cove.

The Parade Ground is open for many activities including baseball, kickball, bocce ball, croquet, volleyball, kite flying and frisbee. It has also hosted community “screen on the green” nights. Bike riding around the Parade Ground is a daily sight and a safe place to learn for the youngest residents. Parents relax because cars are not a safety concern. Neighbors visit on foot and by bicycle.

Diamond Cove is an intergenerational community. Not a day goes by when you do not see neighbors of all ages mingling and enjoying time together. Diamond Cove is a special place to live and enjoy.
