Summer Camps

Diamond Cove Summer Day Camp is open to the children and grandchildren of Great Diamond Island homeowners and other families who are renting property on the island.

This year DCSDC is open to children from kindergarten through 5th grade and will offer 4 sessions from July 9th- Aug.1, 2024. Each session meets from 9:00am-12:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Katie Ford and Jeannie Coppinger, both accredited, recently retired teachers, will deliver an active outdoor program based on imaginative themes that encourage curiosity, the cultivation of friendships, good fun and an appreciation for our unique island home.

Week 1: July 9th, 10th, and 11th- Pirates; “Argh Matey’s” is back by popular demand! Become a pirate for the week, build a pirate ship, hunt for pirate booty and lots more pirate fun.

Week 2: July 16th, 17th, and 18th- The Lorax; “We speak for the Trees”. Join us for some fun with Dr. Suess’s The Lorax while we create our own Truffels Trees and spend some time exploring the beautiful flora and fauna of Great Diamond Island.

Week 3: July 23rd, 24th, and 25th- Critter Week; Let’s get to know our backyard critters. Create your own creature sculptures and experience a visit from Chewonki’s “Bug Mobile” complete with live critters!

Week 4: July 30th, 31st, and August 1st- The Colors of Nature; We’ll take a close look at the variety of colors that surround us.
