DIAMOND COVE SUMMER DAY CAMP 2026! Diamond Cove Summer Day Camp is open to the children and grandchildren of Great Diamond Island homeowners and other families who are renting property on the island.
This year DCSDC is open to children from kindergarten through 5th grade and will offer 4 sessions from July 7th thru July 30th. Each session meets from 9:00 am-12:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. This year, our camp counselors will be a different pair each week. All former or current teachers and artists, they will offer an active outdoor program based on imaginative themes that encourage curiosity, the cultivation of friendships, good fun and an appreciation for our unique island home.
Week 1: July 7th,8th, and 9th- Island Detective week with Katie Ford and Jeannie Coppinger: Join us for a week of outdoor adventure. We will develop our outdoor skills, learn how to cook in a solar oven, use a water filtration system and create a shelter. With the help of some neighboring experts, we will enjoy the great outdoors!
Week 2: July 14th, 15th and 16th- Seas the Day on GDI with Carolyn McGoldrick, Debbie Riley and Colleen Snyder: From tide pool discoveries and shoreline scavenger hunts to island history and outdoor games, campers will explore the magic where the sea meets the pines!
Week 3: July 21st, 22nd and 23rd- Summer Olympic Week with Abby Putnam Arcati and Sarah Whittlesey: Campers will explore kid-friendly versions of exciting sporting events, decorate Olympic apparel, cheer each other on while practicing good sportsmanship and teamwork! The week will end with a closing ceremony that will make every child feel like a gold medal champion!
Week 4: July 28th, 29th, and 30th- SEA(Science and Art) week with Lynne Geitz and Sue Welton: Kids will explore painting, creating, and fun science experiments all in one exciting adventure. Campers will use creativity and teamwork to build colorful art projects, design mini experiments, and discover how art and science connect in amazing ways.

Rippleffect Camp on Cow Island
Rippleffect, a local youth development organization specializes in adventure & wilderness experiences. The camp provides day & overnight programs for kids ages 8-18 on neighboring Cow Island. Activities include sea kayaking, rock wall climbing, fun teambuilding activities and riding a zip-line. Campers learn self-leadership skills and build new friendships. Chebeague Island Sailing School
Sailing school teaches basic boat handling safety, parts of a sailboat, rigging, how sails work, as well as ongoing work on knots, wind and weather awareness. Horse Island Camp
