Fort McKinley Museum

Barbara Wildes, born at the Fort McKinley Hospital, came back this summer to visit Diamond Cove.

The Fort McKinley Museum is owned by the Diamond Cove Homeowner’s Association and operated by a committee of volunteers. Open from July-September, the museum offers exhibits on the history of Fort McKinley as well as hosts several events throughout the summer. In the past, the museum has offered historical presentations, tours, hosted visiting authors, and offered movie screenings.

Please visit the museum’s website for more information: Fort McKinley Museum

Tours of the Fort are offered to any interested party by a group of volunteers.  Please sign up in advance by emailing and we will work to find a mutually convenient time for a walking tour of Fort McKinley. We also offer free walking tours along Diamond Ave that is open to the public where you will find historical buildings with signs containing QR codes for further information. The area off Diamond Ave is private property and requires a guided tour for access.  Please respect the privacy of our homeowners.
